SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS

Our annual Milk Money campaign started last month.  Each child was given a milk carton to collect spare change in to help raise money for SPAN (Severna Park Assistance Network).  The campaign ends on March 14th, when all children are asked to return the milk cartons to Sunday school.  An update will be sent out to let everyone know how much we have raised.

Pastor Dave will be visiting two classrooms during the month and the students will make cards for the homebound members.

Wednesday Bible Study - 7:00-8:00 PM
With Pastor Dave

Pastor’s Bible Study – “JOB” – Continues

By the end of the first chapter of the Bible book named for him, Job has lost everything - all of his wealth is gone, and his children are all dead.  At the beginning of the second chapter, Job is stricken with a miserable skin disease.  And it turns out that all of this is the result of a sort of wager between God and Satan.

Most of the book is an argument between Job and his friends about why he suffers - and about what God is like.  The discussion continues until God appears in a whirlwind and makes one of the most powerful statements in the Bible about His sovereignty.

Why do the just suffer? Where is God in the midst of loss, illness, ridicule and defeat? Those questions probe deeply into the heart of every person, and all too often demand ready answers in our uniquely human, and sometimes painful, experience. Job’s true story of God’s grace in the midst of his profound suffering will teach you:

  • the purpose of adversity in the lives of the faithful;
  • the role of Satan regarding our relationship with God;
  • the hope and strength we have through the promise of our Redeemer.

Join us as we study this fascinating book.  We'll meet Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to about 8:30.  You don't need to make any reservation - just join us!
