Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church

  From the Council President

Dear Family and Friends,

Hopefully you all have had a good summer so far.  It has been very busy for my family with the girls in swimming lessons, bible schools and working.  It has been good to see that most of you have continued to make church priority for Sundays during the summer.  Pastor Dave has reported to the council that attendance continues to increase and we continue to take in new members as well as see visitors worshiping with us.  Pastor Dave continues to work very hard to make sure that visitors are contacted and invited to come back and worship with us.  His hard work has been a direct factor in our increased growth.

We had a mid year review of the status of our records and determined that all financial records are up to date. The church books both electronic and hard copies are up to date and no further review by the council would be necessary.

The Evangelism committee is beginning to come together.  Pastor Dave will be meeting with them during the next month to begin to discuss some of his ideas for outreach.  If you are interested in joining the committee please contact myself of Pastor Dave.

The Staff Support committees have been meeting on a regular basis.  They are taking on the tasks of updating all job descriptions for paid employees, updating employee handbooks and various other tasks.  As special thanks to Dan Ryan for chairing this committee and tackling these much needed updates.

It was requested at the last congregational meeting that we keep the congregation better informed of our financial position. I am in the process of creating a mid-year financial report.  It will be ready for next month’s messenger.

Two of our congregational members are working on Eagle Scout projects at our church.  Chad Baldwin has been working on a meditation garden located to the right of Listman Chapel.  This will be an area for people to pray and reflect.  Chad’s phase is complete and includes the patio, bench and garden.  Patrick May will begin his part of the project shortly, which will be the dedicated brick walkways, garden and a statue.  Please take a minute and walk over to see their project that should be completed by the end of September.
